My Personal Hair Growth Challenge...

For most of my life, I have had the hardest time growing my hair out. I would try protective hairstyles (e.g., braids, weaves, etc.), but [maybe] weeks after I removed the style and paid for my hair to get some TLC (i.e., deep conditioned, trimmed), it would either stop growing or start breaking. My stylist (at the time) would wonder with me as to what the issue could be. We both resolved that that's just how my hair was. But, not so...

In efforts to understand and remedy my situation, I took to the World Wide Web - and what a wide world it is. I realized that there are SO many other women who share the same experiences as I. While gaining a wealth of information, I began to notice "Hair Challenge" as a self-imposed task my fellow hair-growth-challenged sisters would own.
While I saw a few challenges that leave much to be desired, there were a few out there that are proving to work.

I've decided to throw my hat in the ring.

I have begun my personal hair growth challenge. Its been 8 days so far, and I am already seeing a difference. I took photos on Day 1 and Day 5. I sent the pictures to a few of my friends to make sure it wasn't just in my head. Since they know how slow my hair grows, we were all able to confirm that -- IT'S WORKING. By "it" I'm referring to the hair oil I made last week. I've been applying it to my scalp every night, wrapping my hair in a silk scarf and sleeping on a satin pillow case (for good measure). I'll post pics soon, but here's a photo of the oil.

So, keep your fingers crossed with me! Here's to happy, healthy, growing hair!
